So i had a 225 gallon glass tank, it took me two weeks to get it ready to be set up.

In the Course of two weeks.
I took the time to get the tank ready, took me about 6 hours over the course of 4 days to drill four holes in the tank. I re-did my sump, a new wet/dry system. Painted the back of the tank. Also, i built a custom stand and painted it black.

On July 24, i began catching the fishes and took down my 125 gallon. The 225 gallon was gonna be where the old tank stood. I took the time to level the stand. Finally i was able to move the tank onto the stand. I filled it halfway and it lasted over night.

On July 25, i began to fill it up all the way, and as soon as guest started to come into my house the i hear a Big Crack, and Water is getting everywhere. It cracked just hours before my birthday, on the 26.

When i analyze why the tank crack. I see that my tank was not completely supported by the stand!!! I was in so much in a rush of excitement, or maybe because guest was coming. That I did not look to see if the the tank was completely on the stand. The right corner was off the stand by .5'' .

Lesson learned. Make Sure Your Tank Is On the Stand completely!!!.

it was the worst way to begin my 20th b-day. =/

is it just me, but it seems like Its hard to post a New thread on MFK?

That sucks but I'm not sure it wouldn't have cracked anyways. A half inch in a 225 would be mostly, or all, glass.

no not really fixable, im gotta replace the whole back piece.

Dam, Sry to hear that!
