Making 2 tanks into 1?

THis is probably the worse idea I have ever had but here goes nothing.

I have a 180 and a 135 gallon tank that both needs resealing. Would it be possible to take a panel off each one and then just silicone them toegther? THis way I could get a tank 72"x42"x24" tall.

I would add some glass center braces and some glass ontop of all the seems. The tank glass is 1/2", just wondering if this might work.

A lot of people do this. The reason it's not that popular is because of the ugly center braces.

RIGHT ON!!! Thanks for the support guys, I feel better doing this now All I need to do is wait for it to warm up so the silicone works. I will watch them vids tonight.
