Any advice on making a light last, my current record of 3 years just broke down and needs replacing, any brands or tricks to make a light last on a tank?

Are you referring to the fixture or the bulb? If you are getting 3 years from a fluorescent tube, that is extremely good. If you are talking about the fixture, I think you have a moisture problem you need to address. If it is a light designed for damp conditions try another brand. If a shop light don't worry about it since they are cheap.
