you can buy conversion kits to put into a hood, they are fairly inexpensive. im sure your lfs has them, if not i am sure they will order one.
Most the "retro-fit" P.C. kits come as plug and play but you also can buy the bare ballast and related parts separetly. Typically the ballast will come with a wire diagram. THe sockets are often"pre wired" so it's just a matted of connecting the wires and adding a plug.
THe retro-fit kits are about the same price and finding all the parts separetly from differant sources. I have seen super cheep ballast listed in differant places such as ebay for example. Most of these are very low quality and you wont get any customer support if you have a problem with your product. I have helped several customers who have got these "good deals" who had major problems shortly after buying the lighting set up. One was a small fire!!!!!
Stick with a better name company such as current. YOu can buy thier kits at champion lighting (www.championlighting.com)
