I want to start making my own food for my fish. Heres what im doing. I just bought HBH Super Soft Spirulina and Hikari Micro wafers, im going to grind those two in a pepper grinder and cut up some shrimp, then im gonna throw all that in some ice cube trays w/bottled water and freeze it. I was wondering if i should add any other foods to the mix such as romaine lettuce, cucumber ect.

Thats the way to go my friend. For my bichirs and catfish I get this "seafood mix" from my local asian market (its shrimp, squid, crab, mussels, etc.), throw in some fish fillets, krill, veggies (i use zuchinni), put it all in the food processor, then put it back into a big freezer bag and flatten it out. Refreeze and Ta-Dah! my own flat packs of frozen fish food.

I fed my fish the cubes i made today and they loved it! pretty happy about that

Good deal!!!!

What happens if it defrosts before they eat it? Doesn't it get messy?

so its stays in a cube? cause i was thinking if its starts as mush before frozen what happens when it gets unfrozen back to mush right???

What I did was take my "mixture" put it in ice cube trays and when I go to feed my fish I take a cube put it in a cup with water from the tank so it defrosts and then I pour it in. No cloudyness at all.
