No I don't mean prostitution. :D

Im getting really strapped for cash these days. Is there something I could breed that's fairly easy and quick to grow. I was thinking cherry shrimp? My local Big Al's sells them for $5-6 CND. Living this far north (Edmonton, Alberta) I've noticed the prices at LFS are almost 3x what they are back in Ontario. Perhaps one could actually turn a profit selling where I am.

I have a spare 20 and 25g with heaters, lights and filters sitting here collecting dust.

:feedback:

Not much profit to be made from breeding. Unless you're talking high quality fish. Even then it's up to an lfs to purchase them from you. If they won't then you could turn to craigslist but are there enough hobbyists in your area for that to be effective? Very difficult indeed.

Smpage said it. Discus or rays are about the only things that would be profitable. Neither would be breedable in a 25 and both would require quite a bit of cash up front for breeding stock. I think anything else would only make you enough to support your project...at best.

Ah thats ****ty:irked:

then again $20 a week feeds some fish tanks (not too many on this site though)

thats true. im cutting back on my own lunch money so my fishes can eat lol.

Go order some fish cheap and try to sell them for profit where you live. If you can't sell em, then you got an excuse to buy yourself a new tank :D
