so, i have a juvenile jack dempsey cichlid and its about 4 inches ling and not very aggresive its in a 55 gallon i will get a ;larger tank for it by itself when it gets older knwoping it is the minumum for oen jack dempsey but i want him to be bad ass what can i do..:D

it really depends on the fish and jds aren't really all that aggressive, if you want a big mean aggressive cichlid go with a jag or a dovii (if you can house them)
By the way, what size tank is it in and whats its sex? post pics if you need help with that

first things first, why did you make 2 threads about the same thing

and there really is no way to make a fish be more aggressive, and a 55 gallon is fine for a jd, you don't really need to get a larger tank

I merged the threads so they are one thread now not 2 on the same subject =]

JD's really arent that agressive and are easy to train to eat out of you hand and such. If you want mean, you may want to look into another type of sa/ca. I personally like Jags, they are more agressive, but they are very smart and observative fish. If you ever do get those however you will need a bigger tank.

I love jags they r viscious and i love bad fish haha my coinvict is only 4 inches and i swear hed take my cat, and my cats poretty bad ass too haha anyways it hink maybe then ill keep the jack dempsey in the 55 and get a like 100 or 150 gallon soemtime and get a jag, then i can throw my cat in there and see what happens haha joking thanks for the advice tho

now you talking!
get a 125 to keep a single adult male or a 150 to do a breeding pair:headbang2

I love my jags, Id do a breeding pair =] I have a pair in a 55gal [180gal when they are larger] that are breeding now they are still small themselves though like 4ish 5ish inches. They had 2 batches of fry now, which me and the bf are growing out. They are pretty cool fish.

Try feeding him live foods!!!!!!!
