I might pick up a tank that has the holes drilled in the bottom, the bulkheads, and the standpipes, but no actual overflow boxes. The previous owner had it set up with just visible PVC popping out of the bottom of the tank.

This isn't really something I want, so I'm wondering if there's an easy way to order or make the black boxes that are so common in tanks. I'm not sure I've ever seen a thread where something like this was done.

Would it be easier to just paint the PVC black and deal with it, or is there a way to insert the black overflow boxes around it to hide it all?

I don't see much effort in making a false wall with slits. I'm very interested
