Any1 have any thoughts on removing the left side glass on one tank and the right side glass on the other and making a 10 footer? Have plex hold the seams together like people do when they block an old overflow?

use a center brace better and looks cleaner there are sevarl threads about this somewhere try joing two 55g together :D

the glass for the 120's might not be thick enough for a 240,how thick is the glass on ur 120's?

glass thickness is only dependent on the highth of the aquiurm :D

The glass thickness will not matter. The thickness would need to increase for a taller tank, since you will not be increasing the height there is no concern with thickness.

I wouldn't say that's necessarily true. Height is definitely the more important of the 2 factors, but the longer the span of un-braced glass or acrylic the more it will want to bow.
I would put a brace on top where the two tanks meet just to be safe.

The brace at the top is a definate. I want a 10 footer but don't want to spend the money nor am I allowed to spend that kind of money on fish. I guess if this doesn't work I will buy a 180 or 220 or something. I still some questions though on glass bonding. I know how I will do the top and bottom frames. I may even wrap a brace around the joined glass for safety.
