My pond is low 70's high 60's so I'm staring a 55 gal for my two small cats. I have an eheim 2075 canister on my other tank that's been good to me and I was gunna get another but I'm open to suggestions

I know it seems silly since this is a winter tank and all, but maybe consider what you'll do with them next year and the year after and build off that instead. should be fine in a 55 to overwinter, especially in TX as imagine your real cold months aren't to long, but next year they wont fit that 55 haha.
as for filtration, maybe consider a HOB filter like an AC110 to help with mech, rtc's are messy as I'm sure you know haha

ps I dig that inground pool you made, they will love that thing for life.

By next winter I should be able to devise a plan to heat the pond lol even if I can keep it at 75 degrees all winter ill be happy.. Once the RTC's go back out I will use this tank for my Smaller fish before they go into the pond

It's already cycling with a 55g filter so I'm just lookin for one big canister the 2075 handles a 160 gal tank but I was wondering if there is a different brand I should try out or something

for a 55 the skys the limit for canisters then haha. I'd look into sunsun's. cheap and work like little beasts. I have 2 and I wouldn't buy any other canisters from now on. 304B is the model I have, uv filter and all, really well made for good ol' Chinese craftsmanship haha.

yup, great filters, and for your application more than enough power. just watch jamming them full of pads or anything mech. filtration-related, they can jam up fairly fast. a polishing pad and maybe one tray with filter floss and youre set.
