Does anyone have experience/success using Malachite Green in planted tanks? Did or does it kill plants at recommended doses?

I'm completely aware of the heat/salt method, but was curious about this. I seem to have one Black Neon Tetra with a mild case of Ich. Unfortunately, the heater I'm using is designed to maintain a constant 78F and is therefore non-adjustable.

Not only will malachite green kill plants, will also kill good bacteria.

As stated it will kill your plants, but even using salt will cause plants to melt away... This is why I only use Hydor Theo submersible heaters in all of my tanks, because it lets me keep my tanks running around 80* all year long and helps to avoid Ich outbreaks.

Get a better heater. I only use the heat method now and it works great! Heat and water changes cue rich every time! Plants and fish never have a problem with it as long as you make sure to have good surface movement to the water. With high heat low o2 is the problem.
