Malawi Dolphinfish?

Hey guys, and of course, ladies,

Does anyone know anything about Malawi dolphinfish or has kept one?

I'm not necessarily looking to get one, but I'm just curious as to whether or not anyone has any. Moreover, do you have any pictures?

I'm not referring to Crytocara moorii, but rather, the long, slender, mean looking thing here:

The scientific name of this fish is mormyrops anguilloides. It is related to elephantfish. And the get big. It's common name is the cornish jack. This link has some info on the fish. Not really a good fish for the home aquarium. http://fishbase.com/Summary/SpeciesSummary.php?id=2394

Didn't figure it would be appropriate for most home aquariums, but considering the fish keeping abilities and ahem...financial resources of some of the members here, I was curious as to whether or not anyone would have tried one. I'm certain they don't get as big as arapaima, and there are more than a couple of members who have those afterall...

Some people do have them. I know of one guy on another forum that had one. Not sure if he still has it. You are right though. All it takes is the right tank and a ton of money and you could house anything you want.

On a side note... If I wasn't married I'd live in QLD. I've been there a couple of times and to me it's the most beautiful place on earth. Can't wait to go back.
