Malawi Eel

Dose any one know any thing about this eel? I don't know the scientific name, my lfs says that it is rare, and want a lot of money for it. How big dose it get? Thank you.

Not sure about Malawi eels but the two I'm pretty sure that are from Tanganyika are Mastacembelus plagiostoma and Mastacembelus elipsifer. M. plagiostoma gets to about a 1' and elipsifer gets to 18". One is the species you were looking at. Btw they go for so much cuz they are wild caught and arent too common.

the Malawi Eel is aeithomastambellus sp. Rosette. very cool looking eel but also very expensive. Wish I could find some.
