hi everyone, recently i have just transfered my yellow labs from my 55g in my bedroom to a 45g in my lounge.it has now been about a week and they are constantly hiding away and i havent seen them eating since i moved them, i have put plently of rock and hiding places for them.

does anybody know the solution or do u think it will take more time for them to adjust to there new tank

I have one yellow lab and it hides when not feeding but he's also has been in a few light bar fights which has him a bit on the defense.

My yellows hide a lot but my crazy tiger barb keep chasing them out of their spots.

I know Tiger Barb's arent from africa but I had them in my tank originally to cycle my tank and didn't have the heart to take them out. They do extremely well with my mbunas and are too fast to be eaten and too small to really damage my cichlids... only have had them in there for 4 months but seems to work together.

mine stopped eating for three weeks, it was holding eggs, not sure if this your problem, just a thought, apparently more fish the better for africans. they feel safe when there a others swimming around(but not attacking them obviously)

the hiding part doesn't bother me .. thats what they do.. the not seeing them eating..bothers me because they really love to eat... and will eat as much as they are given.. . mbuna are piggys and are very aggressive when it comes to their food.. so check them very well.. make sure they look okay.. and when you feed try to see if they are getting any.. i would give a small water change and add a little aquarium salt according to directions.. it helps them relax and ward off stress related diseases.. other then that they just may need more time to acclimate to their new home.

check the water qa
