Hello everyone, this post is to guide beginners/peacock enthusiast where to purchase Malawi Peacocks.
Please list reliable/$cheap$ websites that you have bought from, or lfs that have a variety of Malawi Peacocks you've visited. Thank You :)

I like to buy from Dave's Rare Fish.

*Note - Cheap does not correlate well with good.

Fish keepers who order fish online tend to pay more money just for shipping than the average fish buyer spends in stocking their tank at a petsmart or the like. The purpose of buying online is not to get the cheapest possible price, but to get the best quality fish FOR the price you're willing to pay.

thank you for the replies. That's some good info for ppl to know. Let me take cheap out of the question and focus on trustworthy websites.

Honestly, the best way to get Africans is to buy from other hobbyists that are breeding.
You get non-hormoned fish that way.
You have a high chance of a healthy fish.
And the price is a lot better than any store or mail order place.

Example.. I have seen mature Haps/Male Peacocks priced at over $100 each.
The same fish from a hobbyist will be $10-30 for a full grown adult.
If you are on a budget, it's not hard to find breeders willing to sell fry at about $2 each.. just grow them out.

Check out your local clubs and their swap meets/auctions. Some people advertise on Craig's list as well.
Spend some time building up your network of friends that breed fish.
