Realized the link to my 180 is from back in January, so I figured I'd update. Took these tonight on my sister's Flip. Not the greatest of quality, but decent enough to get the picture.

First is of the 180 community. Lots of guys in there... some include: multiple peacocks, Nimbochromis venustus, Stigmatochromis sp. "spilostictus" type, Fossochromis rostratus, Protomeleas taeniolatus, Champsochromis caeruleus, Aristochromis christyi, Tyrannochromis nigreventor, Otopharynx heterodon, Placidochromis milomo, Copadichromis borleyi, Protomelas spilonotus - Tanzania, Dimodochromis strigatus, Exochromis anagenys, assorted Pseudotropheus. Large Syno Angelicus and Ancistrus. Some others I'm forgetting about...

Next is one of the 40s with two breeding groups in it: Otopharynx lithobates and Aulonocara jacobfreibergi (Otter Pt). Also growout Copadichromis verdunyi.

Thanks for looking. I'll throw up some more videos of other tanks when I get the chance.

Very nice fish. Just a little over crowded for my taste :)

Thanks bro.

The 180 has a couple of groups that haven't yet colored up yet (Fossos and Tyranos for instance). Will eventually be pulling fish out of there to get better sized groups.

I've got a 150 set up on the other side of the room and will most likely be moving the smaller peacocks and otopharynx back over there when the current 150 inhabitants grow out a bit.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

On all my tanks, I do 50% water changes every 7-10 days... for this one, I do a bit more and end up pulling out about 120-140 gallons per week via python. There is no way to get around water changes. Food -> fish -> ammonia -> nitrites -> nitrates and nitrates need to be removed.

The tank is 180 gallon with a 50 gallon DIY Rubbermaid wet/dry sump and an Aquaclear 110 (mostly for mechanical filtration during feeding). The wet/dry tower has three compartments...I use a coarse blue pad on top of poly filter in the first compartment, bioballs and ceramic media in the second drawer (wet/dry/trickle area) and pot scrubbies in the submerged third section.

As you can imagine, there's a lot of waste, so the filter pad media must be cleaned every week.... generally throw out the poly floss every week and clean the coarse pads under the faucet once a week for 2-3 weeks before replacing with new ones. I've rinsed the bio material out once or twice since it's been set up, but it doesn't really need it if the mechanical section is doing its job.

Here's a link to my build thread. Super easy and (relatively) cheap way to filter a large, heavily-stocked tank. Page 1 has construction pics and page 5 has a cost breakdown to build it (though I've since upgraded to a Mag 12 return pump).
