I set up my first tank 2 months ago. I have 3 malaysian driftwood pieces in it. And I am starting to notice driftwood particles(SMALL) laying all around my tank. Are they suppose to Deteriorate? It looks dumb because it really stands out being on top of my sand. So instead of just sucking fish poop out I am sucking more driftwood particles each maintenance lol. I soaked all the pieces for 3 days prior to placing them in my tank. They haven't changed the water color so thats good.

i have had my tank for about 3-4 months now and i have the samething so i would say its kinda normal. i have good flow in my tank as well and it seems to keep flaking some pieces off and well some fish do pick at it throughout the day. but other than that i dont mind it to much it get sucked up with the poop anyways.

yea i have some as well. small piece tend to brake off for a while then it stops. at least its not rotting or anything like soft wood such as pine

They are just trying to get to fresher wood, It'll be a constant battle if it bothers you
