at work
I have been thinking about getting some of these snails but I have been tald that they will reek havok on my canister filters is this true or not

ive had lots and lots of these guys
it all depends on the size of the tank
and what you have in the tank
it took mounths to find a single snail in my 46 gallon
because of my fish picking at them
but ive also had them in a 10 and 3 gallon tank
they grew like weeds in the 3 gallon
and slower in the 10 gallon
the higher the temperature the faster they grow
but filterwise
i found hundreds of tiny tiney babeys laying on the bottom of my filter
and im not sure but what looked to be eggs all over the walls of the filter
theyre not hard to care for at all
so no good luck grants are needed
lol

if they get into the impeller...yes.
Ive only had problems with MTS in my HOB, never my canister filter

the tank is going to be a 110 tall

I love the snails, but only because if they become overzealous in their breeding habits I can feed them to the loaches. In other situations, they can be a pain that is difficult to get rid of.

well if they become a pain in can always put clowns in that tank I was only woried about the filters

I always have a ton in my canisters but none of them hit the impeller so I don't worry about it and clean them out when I clean the filter.

ya you wont have to much luck with them then
i mean you will see some now and then
but other fish would pick at them
depending on what your planing on keeping with them?
but it would take awhile for them to have eggs and stuff

MTS do not lay eggs. They are live bearing snails.

Most fish do not pick at MTS because they tend to come out mainly at night.
