male and female convict now what

i randomly took a male and female convict from my display tank and put them in a 20 long now what can i force em to pair off or is there a possiblity they wont pair off

now just sit back and watch. breeding convict is literally "just add water". They will need something to lay their eggs on though. A smooth rock or a flower pot.

There is a possibility of the female being bullied and killed though.

best of luck. i've have 3 different breeding pairs. Some went straight into breeding within weeks, another took 2 months. hopefully you get a speedy pair

I have a pair that breed nonstop but they keep eating the fry if you put a male and female together you WILL have eggs

cool i added a second male and female to the tank its a 20 long and im hoping they will breed im going to soon be getting pink cons to add to my colony of black cons

make sure the male is fertile lol!!! I got a male and female convict and 3 months later, they have not bred! Its not proven that the male is infertile, but the female laid eggs once but all got eaten. I know its a male because it doesnt have a red belly even at 3-4". So i got another male anyway

how can i tell should i not use the big males should i remove em and grab 2 small males

i breed my convicts once it all went well then one day the male decided to kill the female

convicts are straight up breeding machines so it shouldnt take long
