i was changin out the plants in my 20 gallon tank an i have a large cichlid stone that i put plants in front of to make them feel more secure. well anyways as i was puttin the plants back my 3 1/2-4 in male convict started nippin my hand lol is was a wierd feeling an the female stayed inside the stone. has anyone else had ther convict attack them while messing around in ther tank?

Its has happened to all convict owners. Well i had a pair of pink convicts with eggs and the male around 3 inches comes and attacks my hand when i was fixing a plant. I has tiny little teeth so it hurts but it was a funny attack. Like a vibrating tiny vacuum, LOL. And the 2 inch tiny female attacks me too which is hilarious.
Haven't had cons do it to me, but when I had my breeding jags they would do that. Hated doing water changes sometimes....they could draw blood!!!

Yup, just experienced it for the first time a few days ago. 3inchers had eggs again and I was trying to move both fish and the clay pot to a different tank. You wouldn't think such a little thing would be so punchy and relentless. Like Miguel (above) said, it feels kinda weird when they bite. You want to say "Ow," but it doesn't hurt. I can't imagine people with 12 inch Doviis and what not. You'd probably have to go in there with a shark suit and welding glove.
