Male/female ? Carpintis

Even though there appears to be black within the dorsal... It's shape doesn't scream female. With just this single picture, nobody can confirm the sex of this fish. I will guess male but that's going off its shape. Im not good at venting but i'm sure if you show a vent pic, someone will be able to confirm the sex for you.

Based on the body shape, I'm going to say female. But as Crush said, venting is likely your best bet. Below is previously owned confirmed female of mine (notice the similarities in body shape). tex.jpg

Very nice female. Well I kind of thought his looked like its forming a nuchal hump. But it's body is very similar to yours.
Here's a pic of my female... I think her shape screams female.

I'll post more pictures when I get home. I want to say its male just bc of behavior in the tank. It also has like a tube thing hanging out most of the time. I'm pretty sure my Texas is trying to breed with my flowerhorn, which is why I believe it's a male.

if you back up the fish or camera for a clearer focus on the vent.
