trying to breed convicts and my male is beatin up the female bad so i took her out so she wouldnt get killed. is this normal r they not gunna pair up??? should i get a bunch of babies and let some pair up that way??? i have them in a 37 gallon tall with a divider 1 cave a good size rock and 2 fake plants...male is about 2 1/2 to 3 inches and female is about 2 inches. do i have to much up and down space and not enough left and right???

this is normal, i usually try to get a female that's slighter bigger then the males so it doesn't happen. i would swap out the female to a bigger size or keep them split and power feed her for a couple of months
if you get a bunch of babies, the spawn will be inbreed, you'd need to introduce new bloodline sometime down the road
