hes 3 years old but ive only had him 6-7 months, in a well filtered 125, do atleast 30% change weakly or more, no tankmates, eats krill, hikari gold and tetra sticks . question is will he ever be that 14-16 in. monster??

If he's 3 years old and was kept in a tank small enough to stunt him, it's unlikely he will get much bigger. That said, nature has a funny habit of proving us wrong.
I think that it's unlikely he'll get much larger. Has he grown since you've had him? It's possible that he's just a slow grower.
I would not expect much more growth from him how many 2' dovii's and umbee do u see around none.Those maxium sizes u hear about are from the biggest and best fish from a brood of several hundred only 2 or 3 will have the genetic ability to grow to jumbo size and then u have to add in the conditions under which the fish has been kept.Chances are u have a average fish that will grow to a average size that he is now but hey u never know u might squeeze another inch out of him but i would not expect to be posting pics of your monster 18" rt anytime soon but lots of luck
hasnt really grown any since i got him, he was raised in a 400 gallon but im unsure of feeding and water quality, he has bulked up a bit, just wondering if i should dedicate an entire tank to him, he isnt a very active fish and only regularly uses a small portion of a 125
