has anyone here sucessfully kept an all male flowerhorn comm tank? i know its possible when they are still juvies (hard to tell male/female), but what about when they get past 6 inches? i've seen some large FH comm tanks in japan, but they were all female (at least they all had the general female chars). id love to see some pics of a sucessful setup with lots of different types of large, colorful, and humped out FH swimming together.

damn near impossible but well check this out! One of our members @ Flowerhornrus:headbang2 I have not asked him how it is going for a while so not sure but he had it done here not all are male but most are

WOW, now that is what i'm talking about!!! beautiful setup!!!

I think it's probable, maybe even possible. The trick should be to give them enough room and hiding places. I currently have a 700 gal tank and just finished installing Aquamats (artificial seaweed) for hiding. I got about 15 growing FH's, some around the 5" mark, 4 Frontosas, 12 Wild Caught Angels, even 5 Kois. Yes, the dominat FH's will occasionally make a dash towards another one, but just short-dashes, not running it out of the tank....just showing who's the boss. I installed the Aquamat, preparing to their transition into adulthood..... looks real neat...:D

wow, sound like a excellent setup. would love to see your setup.

....here goes my community "aquarium"... check out the Aquamat in the background, great for smaller/less dominant fish that want to hide..
