Hello mk'ers,

Needed a little help with breeding. I been trying to breed my flowerhorn, but the male gets too agressive and beats the females up pretty bad.

I had him with a parrotfish. They spawned a few times, then eventually he damaged her near her tail. All spawns infertile.

I picked up a super lowgrade female RD. She bred with him, but later that day he turned on her and by the time i came home she was scaled from gill to tail on one side. Eggs removed, a few hatched. Yay fertile.

I came across a beutiful female that would be worth trying. First week in tank she was scared of him thru divider. She warmed up to him eventually, her tube dropped down some and I put them together. 20mins later I had to seperate them. She was running and hurting herself. Time went by, tried the hole in divider. Fail. She got stuck on his side and beaten.

A few weeks pass and now shes facing him thru divider and flaring. I don't want her getting killed but I would really like them to breed. What do I do?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Sidenote: Female RD healed. Wound left her black on one side. All babies culled.

Also note the wounds on the rear part of the parrotfish.

You should try using a few dithers, this will let your take some agression out on something besides your female. By the way nice male and female were did you get them at i love faders?

I tried some dithers. XXXL giant danios( 7 pieces). In around a hour he killed 3, the others I removed and returned. Purchased the male at lfs and female off flowerhorn crazy.

I'll tell you what to do, give him to me:ROFL::banhim::ROFL:
But on the real some males are like that you may need to get a meanner female or larger female then him, cause he is awesome FH and so is that RD, but I have a friend who has a nice large female JingKang FH that would pair nicely with him!! I'll try to shoot you pics of her!!
