how do you tell the difference in male & female on JD's ? & will they breed in a comm tank ?

The easiest way to tell the the difference is that female JD have a blue beard (that is very distinct) and males do not have this. There are also some shape differences but the blue beard is the easiest.

Males also tend to be more elongated with heavy spangling on the body.
