My 2 Svenis are great together but one seems to be rapidly growing more than the other is this normal?

Males usually push harder to grow earlier, bigger/stronger fish get more food and spawn more 
If they don't spawn, females can usually catch up, once they spawn, females growth REALLY slows down, all of her energy goes into the eggs/fry. On the other hand, I have had females take off and outgrow the males two to one!
