Male Haplochromis Borleyi Redfin

I recently got a baby Haplochromis Borleyi Redfin, and the person and the LFS told me she believed it was a male. It's grey right now with yellow fins and I know the male will turn blue with a red body. Can anyone tell me how long it takes for the male to develop its coloration? Thanks.

Our males started to color up around 4". They got pretty big at around 7"-8" in about 10 months.

you can tell at a relatively small size...if it has any bright coloring and elongated fins, it is usually a male
