Ive had these guys since october and they paired up the second week in the tank and lay eggs every month...this is my first time ive seen red on the top of his back in the back like this...both male and female have always had the red horizontal lines going thru their body tho...anybody else seen this red in their elongatus???

We should also work somehting out if you're into the Hemichromis 5 spot species. I am currently sitting on about 50 1" F1 Hemichromis Fasciatus fry. I'd like to get a hand on some H. Elongatus as that is the only one I am missing now! I have a WC pair of Fasciatus and a WC frempongi that's paring up with another WC fasciatus. I don't know how to ship but I am pretty sure I could get someone here in my area to help me with it. Let me know!

I wouldnt mind tryin to ship fry but right now I only have 1 fry left thats big enough to ship...these guys kill each other alot while being fry...as far as the parents I dont want to chance shipping even if they are shipped right they would have to be in seperate bags on top of that...do you have any frempongi x fasciatus fry?? I wonder what that would look like

The Frempongi/Fasciatus pair just started forming yesterday! I hope to have some within a month! The pic in my avatar is the Femal Fasciatus! She's about 10-11". Try feeding the fry bigger food! I've noticed if you keep them full, they won't cannibalize each other. I starded with first bites, then frozed brine (small) now I do large brine and small pellets. I Feed 3-4 times a day. Water changes every 2 days.
 
I also started off with first bites then live baby brine shrimp frozen baby brine shrimp then discus flakes and live tubifex worms...once they get about an inch all they wanna do is fight each other...ive seen like 4 different fights at once in my 5 star fry tank...just crazy...where did you get your frempongi from and why only 1??

My elongatus male just started getting a little red...im hoping more and more red show up the more he breeds

I got the Frempongi earlier in the year. I started off with 6, ended up with 2. Yesterday 1 died due to the Fasciatus and Frempongi starting to pair up. The Frempongi were $20 each... Wish I could get more.
