i think the thick lateral line gives it away as a female.

yeh thats female, males are more colourful.

ahhhh, well when i picked it out at the lfs it look way different than the other ones that had the thick lateral line. this one only comes out sometimes. most of the time i can barely see it. well looks like i got 2 females now.

so what is the best way to tell a male from a female when they are small? i thought the spots was a good give away.

looks like u got a pair there. males has blue tints on the fins
