Male jag question

At what size do we begin to see a male jags purple sheen? Theres suppose to be a purple color in the light.

I don't know if every jag gets this certain purplish redish sheen, but the one I had got it around 5 inches or so. Stunning when it showed.

i had a 9inch male that looked like this

same fish same size but look at him with a lady around

Wow nice. so how big was he when you first noticed that purple sheen? Actually did you get him at a small size?

Yea my jag is hitting 3 inches now, I "think" i see the purple sheen, does that deem him a male? and can they get that purpleness at that size??

I think it is just luck if u get a jag with the purple shade on him mine is more of a bluish -green shade when he turns on his colors.
