OK, color me baffled. I am absolutely certain this is a male. Colored up and chasing everyone today. Upon closer inspection, he is holding. Share some insight here. Whassup with that? Mistaken on sexing? You tell me, I have never had a female colored up like this!

females will color up more when it's spawning time and if it is holding it has got to be female it was probably chasing the others because she's protective over the eggs in her mouth...

Oh boy, now the question as to who the dad is may be a bigger mystery than trying to discern fatherhood in the ghetto!

If they spawned recently he is probably still going to chase her, how many other fish are in the tank? do you know how many and what types of males you have?

I have heard of some females taking on male coloration while holding to make the males leave them alone. My females get nasty right after spawning and chase everything. They settle down after a couple days

Possible dads include a strawberry peacock, yellow lab. , P. Demasoni, With a long shot Cop.Azeurus. Baffling really!
