Kind of hard to be definitive with an in-bag picture, but it does look to have spotting below the lateral line. Do you have any in-tank shots? If the fish has noticeable spotting in the fins as well, then I'd lean towards male.
Yes the specs come and go under the lateral line I just put it in tank from long car ride was hopping for male
Honestly, if it's only 3" it's probably too early to tell. I'd wait another inch to an inch and a half, then post a new pic. We should be able to tell much more reliably at 4-4.5".
Males ball toints, I will try get a pic of female ball joints. But Bandahoots fish is still very young and small.
