Can someone tell me the gender of both my hait and festae. I think they are both males but just want it confirmed. festae2.jpgfestae3.jpghait1.jpghait2.jpghiat3.jpgfestae1.jpg And I don't know why the pictures are uploading sideways and upside down. They aren't saved that way..

Festae is definitely a male. Not sure about the haitiensis but does look male.

When no other haitiensus is in the tank, a female can become very alpha looking.
Below was my female with no male in the tank.

When her chosen male was in the tank, she became much darker.
In the pic below, male upper fish, female the lower one.

Hey Duane's, can u post full body pics of your female in both dresses? I personally believe withy expirience's that females will have pure white caudel fins reguardless of which dress they wear. Whereas males aren't 100% and usually dark like they're face masks which is why I say male hait. Another example is my black male haitiensis I had before. I believe that people are caught up with the idea that males don't get dark completely and automatically assume they're females and try pairing out with larger males which in return kill the smaller dark male that is expected to be female

Thanks guys. Is there any truth to the saying that as juveniles, females will have dark black spots on their mid tail fins kind of where a festae's spot would be? Mine did not have any spots and still does not now. Also he/she is the only fish in its tank would it still be alpha looking? Also I feed all of my fish new life spectrum.
