There has been a little debate about the sex of this fish on some other forums I frequent. I personally think it is female, but I've very little experience with Festae. So, I thought I'd ask the resident experts. What do you think?
i voted male purely because it has alot of blue spangling. you need to post a pic of it's dorsal fin raised to show that bit of black i can see to get a better idea though

She's(?) still a bit camera shy so getting a pic of her with the dorsal extended has been tough. I have tried to get it but her colors fade a bit when I spook her with the camera.
Is the black spot in the dorsal indicative of female? I have seen it more obvious when she colors up, but like I said, its tough to get a pic of. I'll work on it some more this weekend and see what I get.
by those pics theres no way to tell anything. Other than its a festae. I have some that I have been growing for a year now (4-5") and still dont have a clue. Be patient.
Just so everyone is up to date: 9 male, 9 female...... shat.
I guess I'll do my best to take some better pics this weekend when I get some free time and try this again and if that doesn't work out, I'll just have to be patient.
Balton is all over this. LOL I was about to say ask Balton cause he has a beautiful pair. Still a little to young give it some time. But i am leaning more towards male.
