It could be a problem, I would keep trying to get him onto the pellets and sticks though, eventually he should get hungry enough to start chomping away at them...Mine didn't accept flakes at first but after feeding pellets and flakes every day, hes learned to eat both

how big is it, most haps are almost identical until they are about 1/3rd grown

This individual looks to be at least 6" based on it's eye size in comparison to the rest of it, but I'm sure the OP can tell for sure.
