Male or Female Jag?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Looks to me to be a female....although if a male is stressed and his colors fade it can look female. From the pic I would say a female.

Thanks guys, also wanted to ask, whats the best way to introduce a mature female to a mature male, I know the risks and that there likely to be a lot of aggression but the female is slightly larger than the male. Would it be best to remove the male from the tank to a temporary smaller tank let the female get settled in the main one and then re introduce the male to her established territory.

Thank
Jake

im not to sure about that 1 but id just throw them in an have a divider close by just in case

Id guess female.

If you want to be overly cautious, put a divider in the tank and place them on separate sides for a few days or so, maybe a week. Then remove it and see how they act.

Or you could just do a water change and while doing the change, drop her in the tank and re-arrange the aquascaping. Thats worked for me when introducing larger fish to tanks...just have the divider on standby.

have anymore pics. some full side shots? id like to see the tail fin. most of the males ive seen have alot more speckling on the tail fin then the females.
