male or female ob peacock

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just an educated guess, "Female". Ive only owned one OB, and it was a male. It was far more vividly colored. I've since re-homed the OB with a relative.

Its not Good to go by color. You'll need to catch it and look at its vent. Or wait for it to breed. My Male looked just like that until he took over the tank. Now this is him.

he/she is pretty small i hope its a male getting ready to set this up as an all male peacock/hap tank it does have a lot of egg spots though thts why im more on the male side

Eggs spots is a myth. 2 of my breeding females have them. The only true way is venting or waiting to see if it holds eggs.

Most of them will be. But you will usually get different colors too depending on the recessive Genes of the parents.
