yes im sure, and yes i know theyre mouth brooders. yes the male holds the fries but if u didnt know yet, sometimes if the eggs are too many, the female helps.
Only way to sex them to this date is by DNA testing. And / or if u see the aro lays eggs.

It is exactly like Hightimez states and no other way...beyond that there are tell tale signs, such as longer pectoral fins and proghnatic jaw for the male, but they're only tell tale...

There isn't anything that has been scientifically verified but I'm beginning to see differences amon silvers from my personal experience of having had four 20"+ aros. However, I know nearly for certain that the protrudedness or bulk of lower jaw, unfortunately, is not the most distinct sexual trait.
What I'm seeing are following distinct variables that are worth mentioning:
1. Length, width of overall finnage
2. Red vertical marking on the gill plate
3. Thickness of the body (not the height)
4. Sharpness, pointedness, and length of the extended end on pectoral fins
5. Red dots on the gill
