Male or female? Texas? Green Texas?

Looks to be a male Green Texas. Male because there is no black blotch on the dorsal fin of any sort. Green Texas because of the irregularity of the pearlings, and the fact that some of it joins up to form wormings on the face. Looks like the Rio Salto variety.

[EDIT]

Oh lol, you're the same guy who posted up that topic in the General Discussion section where I commented before. XD No wonder the Green Texas looked so familiar.

Anyways yeah, as above, I would definitely say that it's a Green Texas, most likely male, also most likely the Rio Salto variety. Though do note that the average keeper don't really care that much about interbreeding individuals of different collection localities, so whilst I say it's most likely a Rio Salto, it could very well be some other locality (there are heaps of natural variation anyways) or could be a mix of two different localities.

Also do note that not everyone cares enough to distinguish the two species either, and label them both as 'Texas' or alternatively, 'Blue Texas', which results in interbreeding of the two species. Yours doesn't really look like a mixbreed though. Although one can never know nowadays (in fact, one can never know unless one collects a fish oneself, and even then it's not 100%).

Yeah... :D
