male or female??

natts are not sexually dimorphic, which means that there is no way to visually determine whether they are male or female. the only real way to tell is to wait for them to breed.

if you have a group you should be able to tell...most likely male will be skinny and long, female will be fat and short. she/he will turn jet black with mature enough to breed.

Even then it's hit and miss. Although, it is a trend for the females to be thicker. That's about the only guide you can use until they spawn.

yes..but it's pretty much that way. female are most of the time thicker.

there is no reliable way to determine sex just by looking at them, you can assume that a thicker fish is a female all you want, but in the end, it is still just a guess

yes joey that's what im trying to say. all is just a big guess...

just like when people ID piranha, unleas you scoop the fish up from the river yourself and know the exact location, all ID is just a guess as well.
