I have a midas cichlid that now i am thinking its female. The breeding tube on this fish looks really thick n big like a female. Trying to compare to my male red devil his is alot thinner n pointy. dont think these pics will do justice but any help will be appreciated.

looks male to me

give him a good belly full of food so his parts poke out then take a picture of his ... area.

Yes, females tubes are usually thicker. I'm guessing female but need more photos.

as said cannot tell really from those pics.

females tubes are thicker and stubbyer when out.

male are thinner and pointed.

cant really get the good shot but the tube looks shorter and stubbier than some of other male species i have in there.
