Hey everyone!
How can you tell if the Aro is a male or female?
Are you able to tell from a certain size or age?
Can anyone tell if mine is a male or female?

Thanks in advance:)

nope, it's hard to tell even when they're adult size. some think they can tell when they're larger because male has larger mouth to keep the babies inside , but to me that's more of a guess at best.
if you want a pair you have to get a couple of them that would most likely give you some male and some female

It'll take you a loooooong while to either find or establish a breeding pair.

Usually to tell the difference from a female or a male is the underbite, i forgot but i believe if the underbite is longer than its most likely to be a the female. Or it can be the other way around.

you can tell by da size of da head when its adult size

impossible to tell until pair form. I'm still conducting the experiment. When i first bought my 2 silvers around 3in i compare head and body length. one had a bigger head compare to the body and the other had smaller head compare to the body. when both swam together you can see the difference. now 2 ft+ just need a bigger tank to see if my experiment work.

its possible u can tell when there 2ft+ by da size of there head

i would not know until they paired off. but from the looks of the head at 2 ft+ one looks more masculine and the other more feminine. plus the feminine one's body seems to be more rounder than the other one even when i don't feed them for a week or more, while the other one is flat for the same period of time.

theres a site too caculate da sizes and tell if its a male or female
