I was just wondering how you can tell male from female and if there is a certain age they have to be. I got my first bichir around 4 months ago and its 7inch, probably a year old.

And yes they can possibly eat smaller bichirs. Depends on the size differences and also temperament of the bichir.

The males analfin is approx twice as wide as the feamles and in some species may be edged in black
I also have one more question concering the nice picture people get of their brichir. I have a 6.4 mega pixle Kodak camera but i can never get a clear picture of my brichir. Im not sure if its the lighting,or the camera.
