male or female???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
IDK squat about pacu except they get bigger than a Dodge, Oscars can only be sexed by venting wich is a lengthy explenation. Long story short, you have to observe the fish's sex organ, pointy is male, round/blunt is female. Its a little white/pink nub right behind the fish's anus. If you want more details just google it or do a site search here on MFK

Are you serious? Why do you want to know? Are you going to get it a mate?

i have no clue???

no

EDIT to say...be prepared to get a lot of advice about your pacu. You should listen to some of it.

Wow, an oscar, a pacu, and what looks like a pleco from the second pic to be what looks like a 55g. I highly suggest you find new homes for the fish as your 55g is grossly undersized for them.

amen to that.

even if that was a 90, it would still be horribly overstocked...

If you really love your Pacu, you should give him a bigger tank.

Here's what I'm thinking. You were the victim of a clueless lfs employee who read the Pacu tag stating they need a 75g tank minimum. He was so cute at his little size that you spontaneously bought him without doing any research. Next thing you know he's a tankbuster.

lets hope thats how it happened...

actually i saved him from being let go in the wild when no one else would take him.... i am putting them in a bigger tank as soon as we are moved into our new home. and its not a 55 that they are in now.
