Can't see anything. As for flowerhorn food, the best thing is a variety of food. But keep pellets are your flowerhorn's staple food. The best pellet I would recon are listed in order are NLS(New Life Spectrum), Ching Mix, Grand Sumo, A-Life, and Hikary Bio-Gold or just Gold would be fine.
Feed them a variety of frozen blood worms and frozen krills. Please try to avoid any live food and freeze dried.

That would be a male, as for identifying that fish. I am unsure of what it can be. Definitely has a Kamalau strain in it though. But to be honest, I cannot say this fish is a good quality. It would be more on the lower end quality on my opinion. But hey you know, if your not into being a die hard FH hobbyist, don't let the quality of the fish bring your hope down. A fish is a fish. :D

Everyone has their own preference. It is all base upon on how you want your FH standard to be like. Either your going after for KOK size or for pearls etc etc etc. But what I like for myself, I like to have every bit of everything overall to be the best it can be.
As for FH strain, if you want to talk about high top notch quality...we're talking about true GM(golden monkey) aka Kamalau strain here. But fortunately, most of those strain now a days aren't being bred anymore. Tan King would definitely be one of the best I would like to have. But this is the same story as the GM strain too. The creator and breeder of these 2 true strain were being sold out back in 2001-2004.
One of the best and most sought after strain now a days that can be found are KK(King Kamfa).
Knowing from poor low end quality to being a master piece is not too difficult once you observed a few wide variety of fish. And just learning from picture after picture online can make a big difference about knowing what is what.
This website here will help you learn almost everything you need to know. Lots of stickies for you to read and browse such as different strains and identifying which is which.
