Male OR Female?

Hi guys, this is my first FH, anyone wanna give some opinions on the gender you think he/she is? And what cross breed and grade is this? i paid like $30 for it when it was like 1 inch smaller... he/she is very active tho.

that guy ripped me of...stupid ass pet shop,
 
im so mad right now dude, imma friggin call up the shop and rage... he goes to me "u cant really tell what breed it is while its young and u cant get an idea of how it migh tlook when its young"... so far most ppl said i got bull****ted.
 
I agree on the "low grade zz" and you did pay a lot for that fish, but the cool thing about flowerhorns is that they can develop into really nice looking fish with interesting personalities. Cant tell the sex yet but give this flowerhorn some time and you might end up being very happy with your purchase!
 
^^ this is why i love you guys loool... and yeah im not that type thats gonna throw it away, theres alot of fish that dont look THAT good, but they are prized for their personality...

Im going to buy some XO red and green next month, i hear its awesome!

Its the pet shops job to sell fish, Not be fish experts. Dont be mad at the pet shop, You didnt know either. Your fish looks just like any other $30 low grade ZZ. No telling how it will turn out, But in reality could look really nice as it grows, you never know. Appears to be male.
 
IT is their job to sell fish, and most ppl that work in pet shops should at least have a little knowledge on the breed of fish they are selling? Its not like he told me "he doesnt know" the dude told me "yeah believe me hes got a little purple shade on him, shud be nice when hes older"... lets see..only time can tell.
 
looks male, its zz and its young who said it was low qual.
and thos jewel cichlids? are in for it later.
 
Yeah they are jewels lol, and i was told they can look after themselves and go fine wih FH?
