Hey I have two adult bichirs and was wondering how you could tell if they were male or female.

Look in the stickies at the top of the forum. There is a post with great pictures of sexing using their anal fins.
If you look at the anal fin a males anal fin will be thicker/ more dense. a females will look limp. but it depends on your poltperus' size the are able to be sexed at about 7-9 inches. be careful for late bloomers though some males will become mature later. so untill they become matur they will all look like females.
