Can you have two or more male rays in the same tank, given that there is at least one female in it too? I hear they will fight but i also hear more males in the tank will have better success in breeding.

I haven't seen any aggression in our tanks with multiple males, but I would think the female may get harassed.

When I have to do mixed groups, I like to keep more females than males. I've seen aggression when it's the other way. But it has a lot to do with the animals themselves.

as long as u have a fairly big tank and not too many males...

the more mature males u have, the more aggro they get. I would stick with more females then males, or.... have more then one male ray, and find out which one is the "alpha male" the one that breeds first, then sell the other male, having competition pushes them along pretty fast

ide be concerd for the female being put under stress by 2 males, they get enough from one! i carnt see you haveing aggression problems between the males just to much for the girl in there.

I have 2 males and 2 females in a 350 gallon stock tank. When the females are receptive to breeding, it is over and done with lickity-split. I had 1 male in the system for a while and he just didn't seem to want to "get the job done". Once I introduced some competition there was a breeding frenzy:naughty:.

One note concerning aggression and multiple rays:

When rays have their needs met (food, shelter, space, water quality) they seldom sqaubble, quarrel, bite, fight or scrum. I have had ZERO problems with my two males, two females in 350 gallons of water. I make sure their needs are met every day.

ide try and get more then one female between the 2 males in the largest tank you can.

a friend has a pair of young pearls and my old pair of orinoco motoro in his tank and has never had a problem ever. the male orinoco only ever trys to breed with the female motoro and never bothers ither pearl. he says its amazing how careful the motoro are around the pearls, they treat them like kids. the pearls nip the motoro to move them away from food but the motoro never retaliate just move.

wether this is because they know the pearls are young and immature so dont bother them i dont know.
