I prefer Quikrete brand pool filter sand. It’s around $7 for a 50lb bag. Requires some good cleaning before you put it into the tank, but looks excellent once it’s in. Color-wise, it’s a nice tannish brown. I’ve used it for 10+ years with great results. Additionally, your RD will love having sand, as opposed to gravel.yes I want to switch to sand in the near future, what color would you recommend? Just natural sand?
